Time is getting short. My checklist is almost all crossed off. My bag is 50% packed. This is very cool.

I’m glad the weather is as hot as it is, that way we can ease into the warmth of the big Mexican sun without being blasted.

I don’t know about you, but my biggest trepidation about this trip has been the heat. I don’t do heat well. At all.

But these past few days have been a great in terms of getting used to being uncomfortably warm.

I went to the Salvation Army and to Catholic Charities and bought some really light clothing. I’m told that, for cultural reasons, shorts aren’t always acceptable in Mexico, so I picked up some light kakis and –gasp- a Hawaiian shirt.
